Sundial Care Home in Devon is proud to announce their innovative new garden programme that encourages their residents, who are affectionately referred to as family members, to engage with nature and spend more time outside.

Launching an exciting new gardening club to help family members learn about the world of plants and wildlife, everyone has been spending time in Sundial’s greenhouse planting vegetables and flowers. The home has been given caterpillars from Insect Lore, which they have been able to watch transform into beautiful butterflies, which were then released into the garden, offering family members an engaging experience and unique insight into the world of nature.

Family members are also having a competition to see whose sunflower will be the tallest. For Sundial, it is important that they involve the people who live with them to be involved with the design of their home. The gardening club will offer family members a chance to cultivate their own garden and grow a world that is meaningful to them, all while encouraging them to spend more time enjoying fresh air and sunshine.

Sundial Care Home, who hold a CQC rating of Outstanding, have always taken pride in their beautiful grounds, and hope that offering this opportunity to their family members will provide them with a new way to enjoy the garden.
