Devon Care Home

It has been a busy time for everyone at our Devon Care Home, Sundial in Tipton St John this week; from a new name, to celebrity encounters and great fun at the fayre!

Formerly known as Angela Court, the nursing home is now in the process of getting itself a brand new name and will soon be known as Sundial Care Home, after the beautiful sundial that has been in the gardens of the home for over 100 years. The home currently provides residential care and specialist dementia support, and has recently been completely refurbished.

Sundial Nursing Home has always been an important part of the local community and offered its support by sponsoring the large marquee at the Tipton St John Playing Field 50th Anniversary summer fayre, earlier this month. It was at the fayre that Sundial’s longest family member Hillary Wright, got to meet her favourite radio and television personality Jeremy Vine. Jeremy spoke to all of the people living at Sundial as they enjoyed the festivities, but was won over by Hillary’s charm, even taking a selfie with her on his phone.

Hillary said: “it was an absolute delight to meet Jeremy, he’s been a favourite of mine for such a long time and it was lovely to speak to him. We’re all hoping he can come and visit our home to see why we all love it there so much!”

The whole family at Sundial Care Home are hoping that Jeremy will come and officially open the first floor of the home, as it is almost finished and will very soon be ready to welcome new family members.
