Local care home beats politicians

Our Devon Care Home, Sundial, an award-winning specialist dementia care provider in Tipton St John, has written to local MP Hugo Swire offering its own solution to the care funding crisis.

Evolve Care Group, the company which supports Sundial, said that “local residents who need care and support now cannot be expected to wait for politicians to argue about the care funding crisis.” The group have taken matters into their own hands and set up a special subsidy fund of £250,000 to assist local people with the costs of care.

Home manager at Sundial, Lorraine Molloy, told us “we want to provide love and care to those that need it not just the very wealthy. Our subsidy fund will allow those currently stuck at home or in hospital to access our specialist dementia services at a cost that they can afford.”

She went on to explain “the team at Sundial have implemented a cutting edge new model of dementia care, surrounding person-centred care. This is having an amazing impact on the lives of people living with the condition and we want as many people to benefit from these advances as possible.”
