If you’ve ever wondered what it might be like to live in a Devon Care Home, then look no further than Jeremy Vine’s Facebook Page.
The BBC Radio 2 presenter recently visited Sundial Care Home in Tipton St John, where he was shown around, and had tea with the family members living there.
After enjoying an afternoon cuppa with Isobel, Audrey and Marian and hearing their stories, Jeremy joked that he couldn’t wait to book his place at Sundial.
He said, “I met some of the Sundial family last summer at a local fete and I am so pleased we have finally been able to arrange a visit here. I was particularly taken by all the small touches the team put in place to make it feel like a true home and to stimulate happy memories. Whether it’s the vintage wedding dress that takes you back to the happiest day of your life, or the record player that plays your favourite hits of the 1940s, it’s clear that the team at Sundial really care about creating happy and fulfilled lives for the family members living there. Combine this with the beautiful décor and the stunning gardens that look out over the Devon countryside, I can’t imagine a nicer place to grow old.”
The team at Sundial were so excited about Jeremy’s visit that they donned their best outfits and had the cups of tea ready to go for his arrival.
Sundial’s Home Manager, Lorraine Molloy, told us “We were very grateful for the opportunity to show Jeremy what we have created here in Tipton. He is a firm favourite with lots of our Sundial family members, and the ladies couldn’t stop chatting about his visit, even hours after he left. It meant a great deal to them all that he took the time to sit and have a cup of tea whilst listening to their life stories, so thank you very much, Jeremy!”
